Dear RTTOV team,
I am trying to determine the exact mapping between RTTOV channel numbers and the original NOAA-20 VIIRS band names (I1-I5, M1-M16) from the coefficient file:
rtcoef_noaa_20_viirs_o3co2.dat
Some channels are ambiguous when identified from their central wavelengths alone. For example:
Ch16 = 3.739 µm
Ch17 = 3.696 µmwhich could correspond to VIIRS I4 (~3.7 µm) and M12 (~3.7 µm) bands, respectively.
Is there an official channel-to-band mapping table for the NOAA-20 VIIRS RTTOV coefficients?
