We have received the following message from EUMETSAT:

“Two Line Elements (TLEs) for the Metop, NOAA and SNPP satellites are currently available from the EUMETSAT website at: http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/metopTLEs/html/index.htm. They are now being migrated to a new web server: https://service.eumetsat.int/tle. The TLEs will be available in parallel on the old and the new web servers from today 19/11 to 02/12/2020. From 02/12/2020, they will only be available on the new web server. A redirect from the old URL to the new URL will be in place between 02/12 and 18/12/2020.”

If you use the AAPP get_tle tool to retrieve EUMETSAT TLEs, you will need to update your ATOVS_ENV8 file: change all instances of http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/metopTLEs/html to https://service.eumetsat.int/tle.

Also, if your reception system pulls TLEs directly from EUMETSAT (i.e. outside of AAPP) you will need to update that too – before the deadline of 18th December.

    Regards,

    Nigel
