This is an announcement for MAIA (cloud mask) users.

In preparation for the launch of JPSS-2 later this week (to be re-named NOAA-21 after launch), an updated MAIA thresholds file has been posted at https://nwp-saf.eumetsat.int/downloads/aapp_data_files/maia_data_files/. You can download it and unpack it. There are no changes to any of the other satellites.

We are also preparing some code changes for MAIA, to be released in the next AAPP update:
    – VIIRS to CrIS mapping for NOAA-21
    – Support for the use of ECMWF forecast files which are now publicly available on the ECMWF web site, as an alternative to GFS.

If you are interested to test these updates before release, please contact the NWP SAF Helpdesk.

    Nigel
