We have noticed that Metop-B AMSU-A channel 1 warm counts are very close to the lower limit of 13500 specified in the AAPP file amsua_clparams.dat.
A new amsua_clparams.dat file has been posted at https://nwp-saf.eumetsat.int/downloads/aapp_data_files/atovs_cal_files/. This also includes some adjustments for other AMSU-A channels. Direct Broadcast users are advised to download the updated file and install it at $AAPP_PREFIX/AAPP/data/calibration/coef/amsua, where $AAPP_PREFIX is the AAPP installation directory. Or, if you prefer, you can download and run the get_atovs_cal_files.sh script.
A new AAPP update release is currently being prepared for release in late June or early July.
