Future Plans

• Continue improving the algorithm, releasing updates as appropriate.
• Provision of meaningful settings for aerosol and trace gas detection for HIRAS, GIIRS, and IKFS-2
• Implementation of the imager-assisted cloud detection for CrIS using collocated VIIRS radiance products
• Refining the aerosol detection to increasingly sophisticated type classification
• Extending the trace gas detection facility to target gases other than HCN
• Feasibility of making extended use of different parts of the infrared spectrum for improved identification of clear / cloudy channels in the presence of background error is under investigation.
