IASI config files, May 2024

This announcement is for users of OPS-LRS.

New BRD and GRD files are available for IASI on Metop-B and Metop-C. You can find them as usual at https://nwp-saf.eumetsat.int/downloads/aapp_data_files/OPS-LRS/aux_data/. The easiest way to download these auxiliary files is to use the “get_aux_files.sh” script. The new files are:

For both instruments the IIS/AVHRR Offset Guess is updated. For IASI-C the scan mirror reflectivity coefficients are updated.

EUMETSAT plan to install these files on 13th May 2024. We do not expect significant impact on the radiances. OPS-LRS should not fail if users don’t install the new files, but we recommend that you install them to ensure consistency with the global processing.
