SDP system requirements

Last updated: 21/08/2007

SDP is written mainly in Fortran90. A few routines for handling BUFR files are written in C. The input and output of SeaWinds data are in the BUFR format.

SDP is intended to run under UNIX or LINUX. It may also run on a Windows PC using Cygwin as a UNIX emulator. SDP has been tested with the pgf90 Portland, the GNU G95, the GNU GCC, and the Intel Fortran compilers. So far, only the GNU C compiler has been used.

SDP needs the BUFR library that can be obtained freely from ECMWF.

When fully installed, SDP needs about 81.3MB disk space. This does not, of course, include SeaWinds data files.

The tarred and zipped installation file sizes 24MB.

More information can be found in the SDP User Manual and Reference Guide.
