OWDP is written mainly in Fortran 90. A few routines for handling BUFR and GRIB files are written in C. OWDP is intended to run under UNIX or LINUX. It may also run on a Windows PC using Cygwin as a UNIX emulator. OWDP has been tested with the Portland pgf90, the GNU g95, the GNU gfortran, and the SUN compilers with their accompanying C compilers. OWDP needs the BUFR and GRIB API libraries that can be obtained freely from ECMWF. When fully installed, OWDP needs about 100-150 MB disk space. This does not, of course, include data files.
