AWDP system requirements

Last updated: 13/01/2009

AWDP is written mainly in Fortran 90. A few routines for handling BUFR and GRIB files are written in C.
AWDP is intended to run under UNIX or LINUX. It may also run on a Windows PC using Cygwin as a UNIX emulator. AWDP has been tested with the Portland pgf90, the GNU g95, the GNU gfortran, the SUN, the SGI MIPSpro, and the Intel Fortran compilers with their accompanying C compilers.
AWDP needs the BUFR and GRIB libraries that can be obtained freely from ECMWF.
When fully installed, AWDP needs about 100-150 MB disk space. This does not, of course, include data files.
The tarred and zipped installation file sizes 6.5MB.
More information can be found in the AWDP User Manual and Reference Guide.
