The AAPP update release V3.1 consists just of this readme file containing an email from CMS/Meteo-France offering access to up-to-date calibration and clock error files on their ftp server. Dear AAPP users, Because at CMS sometimes, we have to modify the files of coefficients necessary to calibrate the different instruments of the NOAA satellites, we feel that it could help some of you to have access to our operational files. For example, we can modify the limit values of output counts when the radiometer is looking to the Space or the internal target. Normally, via the AAPP forum, you are informed about an upgrade of those files. So the files will be put each day (0h15 UT) on a ftp server. Please remember that these files can contain errors as they are sometimes manually updated, so you should not use them as truth. Some comments could be in French because inserted by our operators. The copy on the server is done by cron on a development machine, it can be stopped at any time. Knowing this inconvenience we still think that it can help. Server: ftp.meteo.fr (user: anonymous, pswd=your email address) Directory: /pub/CMS/deliverables/aapp/calibration/coef/ One sub-directory for each instrument (we keep the AAPP scheme): amsua amsub avhcl hirs msu Files for amsua: amsua_clcoefs.dat amsua_clparams.dat Files for amsub: amsub_bias.dat amsub_clcoefs.dat amsub_clparams.dat (Note that updates of amsua and amsub files come from UKMO) Files for avhrr: avhcal.txt Files for hirs : calcoef.dat Files for msu : calcoef.dat Additionally, we also update on our ftp server clock error information for the different NOAA satellites in Directory: /pub/CMS/deliverables/aapp/navigation/orb_elem/ If you have any questions or require help please contact: aapp-cms@meteo.fr
