Supported platforms include: AIX, IRIX, Solaris and Linux PC. HPUX is not supported. The host machine must be able to run multithreaded applications, using pthreads (POSIX threads). Standard Unix utilities (including make, ar, tar, perl5, lex, yacc) are used. 5. Unpacking the files ---------------------- Apart from the release note and User Manual, all other files are packaged as gzipped tar files. To unpack, bring up a Unix terminal window, copy the tgz file to a suitable location on your file system and enter the command: tar -xzf xxx.tgz where xxx is the name of the component or if your system does not support the "-z" option in tar, gunzip -c xxx.tgz | tar -xf - 6. Documentation ---------------- The main user document is the OPS-LRS User Manual (NWPSAF-MF-UD-006). This contains instructions on installing OPS-LRS and running the supplied test case. The document may be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The reference documents in ops-lrs-doc.tgz are supplied for information only and the NWP-SAF does not take any responsibility for the accuracy or readability of the documents. There is an index file "ops-lrs-docs.txt" giving the file names, titles and version numbers of the reference documents. 7.
