The HRIR (High Resolution Infrared Radiometer) flew on the first three Nimbus satellites.
The HRIR on Nimbus 1 consisted of a single channel radiometer observing in the 3.5-4.1 microns range.
It operated for slightly less than a month between August 28, 1964 to September 22,1964 and it essentially operated during night tim
